Ahmad Ghazi Darwish is shaping Saudi tourism and talent, with impact spanning Red Sea Global and national development, under Vision 2030.

Ahmad Darwish Is Helping Power Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Future

Saudi Arabia’s transformation is no longer only defined by vision. It is increasingly defined by execution. Across tourism, infrastructure, talent development, and community-building, the Kingdom is proving that national ambition can be translated into real outcomes. Few places show that more clearly than Red Sea Global, where regenerative tourism is being built at scale.

At the center of that effort is Ahmad Darwish, an engineer and senior executive whose role has been critical in helping Red Sea Global grow from a major idea into an operating reality. As Group Chief Administrative Officer, he helps oversee the internal systems, governance, people, and partnerships that keep one of Saudi Arabia’s most ambitious development platforms moving forward.

A Strong Technical Foundation

Darwish’s leadership is rooted in engineering discipline. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Portland and a Master of Science in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from the University of Glasgow. That academic background helped shape the analytical mindset and standards-driven approach that would later define his career.

Before joining Red Sea Global, he spent around two decades at Saudi Aramco, where he worked on complex programs in communications, research, and security. He also contributed to the design of a research and development facility at KAUST, where sustainability had to be embedded into performance from the start. These experiences gave him deep expertise in coordinating multidisciplinary teams, integrating large systems, and delivering ambitious work at scale.

Helping Build the Backbone of Red Sea Global

Ahmad Darwish is not simply an executive with a title. His impact comes from helping build the structure that allows Red Sea Global to function and scale effectively. He joined during the early stages of the Red Sea initiative and advanced from Chief of Staff to Chief Administrative Officer, and then to Group Chief Administrative Officer. That progression reflects how central he has been to the organization’s development.

In his role, he oversees a wide portfolio that includes corporate services, people and culture, strategy and EPMO, government and external affairs, cybersecurity, and smart-destination functions. In simple terms, he helps coordinate the enterprise systems that turn giga-project ambition into operational delivery. His work has helped strengthen governance, align teams around clear priorities, and embed a culture of accountability inside one of Saudi Arabia’s most important destination developers.

Turning Tourism Vision Into Human Impact

What makes Darwish especially compelling is that his influence goes beyond systems and operations. His work also touches the people and communities who will benefit from Saudi Arabia’s tourism transformation. One of the clearest examples is talent development. At Red Sea Global, he helped advance an integrated education framework that combines academic learning, practical training, and direct employment pathways. In 2025, more than 1,000 young Saudi men and women graduated from these programs through partnerships with HRDF and TVTC. That achievement shows that his work is not only about projects, but about preparing Saudi talent for the future economy.

He has also supported the creation of community infrastructure that improves quality of life. In partnership with SEK Education Group, Red Sea Global inaugurated Turtle Bay International School at The Red Sea destination, providing world-class education for the children of employees and residents. This kind of investment reflects a broader vision: tourism development should not only attract visitors, but also create thriving communities for the people building and living within these destinations.

Advancing Health and Regenerative Development

Darwish’s engineering mindset is also visible in how Red Sea Global approaches services and infrastructure. In 2024, he announced Red Sea Health, a dedicated healthcare brand designed to serve The Red Sea and AMAALA. Its first milestone was an advanced clinic at Red Sea International Airport, equipped with 133 units supporting consultations, urgent care, vaccinations, and direct health services for guests, residents, and staff. Future plans include two hospitals, six pharmacies, and emergency response services.

This shows that tourism development under Vision 2030 is being built with long-term resilience in mind. Ahmad Darwish’s work helps ensure that destinations are not only attractive and innovative, but also functional, supportive, and capable of sustaining real communities. He has also helped represent Red Sea Global’s regenerative model on larger platforms, including FII, TOURISE, and the Saudi–US Investment Forum. Through these engagements, he has helped position Saudi Arabia as a country developing tourism in a way that strengthens both the environment and local communities.

His story is not only about tourism. It is about execution at scale. Through Red Sea Global, he is helping create destinations that generate jobs, support families, improve services, and reflect a more confident and future-ready Saudi Arabia.
