Fouz AlZahrani: Culture-Led Branding for Vision 2030

In Saudi Arabia’s ambitious journey toward Vision 2030, communication is more than a supporting function, it is a driver of transformation. Narratives that shape identity, culture, and purpose are at the heart of building a globally respected and locally celebrated nation.

At the center of this communication renaissance is Fouz AlZahrani, a cultural storyteller, branding strategist, and visionary leader whose career bridges education, creativity, consultancy, and government leadership. Her story is not only about professional achievement but also about how communication, when rooted in culture, can inspire pride, engagement, and progress.

Early Life and Education

Fouz AlZahrani’s journey began with a love for language, culture, and education. She pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University (2012–2016), a discipline that grounded her in the richness of Saudi heritage and the power of storytelling. This foundation in culture gave her a unique perspective when later navigating the worlds of branding and corporate communication.

Determined to build a multi-disciplinary skillset, Fouz complemented her academic studies with professional certifications. In 2016, she earned the International Certificate in IT Skills from the University of Cambridge and completed modules at the Saudi Electronic University in e-Commerce, Human Resources, and Supervision & Management. Her curiosity for blending creativity with technical expertise led her to secure Adobe Creative Suite certifications in 2019 for Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. These credentials deepened her ability to design impactful content and visual identities.

Commitment to Lifelong Learning

Her learning journey culminated in December 2024, when she completed a professional course in Building Brand Identity & Brand Strategy Management at London Training for Excellence. This training refined her strategic capabilities and underscored her role as not just a creative, but a systems thinker able to connect brand vision with national strategy.

This diverse educational background reflects a leader who values lifelong learning and understands that strong communication must be grounded in both cultural authenticity and modern technical expertise.

Leadership in Strategic Communication

By 2024, Fouz had established herself as one of Saudi Arabia’s rising leaders in communication. She assumed the role of Advisor at Confidential Government Authority, where she contributes to brand governance and high-level strategic communication frameworks. Her work in this role focuses on aligning policy goals with narratives that resonate with citizens, ensuring that strategy is understood and embraced across all levels of society.

At the Strategic Office for Developing Al-Baha Region, she serves as Head of Brand Center and Corporate Communication & Media Expert. Here, her mandate is to position Al-Baha, a region celebrated for its mountainous landscapes, cultural richness, and tourism potential within the broader Vision 2030 framework. She has helped shape the regional brand, elevating Al-Baha as both a cultural treasure and an investment hub.

Public Sector Leadership and Entrepreneurship

Earlier in her career, Fouz left a significant mark at the  Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs & Housing (MoMRAH). She rose from Creative Specialist and Graphic Designer to Manager of Internal Communication, where she developed storytelling systems, employee engagement initiatives, and governance structures that tied directly into Vision 2030 execution. Her work demonstrated how internal communication could evolve from a supportive role into a core strategic function.

Alongside her public sector achievements, since 2017, Fouz has been the Founder of a boutique consultancy specializing in corporate identity, branding, and digital campaigns. This entrepreneurial endeavor reflects her commitment to bridging the public and private sectors, ensuring that Saudi communication strategies are innovative, adaptive, and globally competitive.

Career Journey

Fouz’s career path is unique because it demonstrates adaptability, resilience, and purpose. She began as an Arabic teacher and department supervisor, experiences that sharpened her organizational skills and ability to convey ideas clearly. Teaching instilled in her a deep respect for cultural continuity, something that later shaped her approach to national storytelling.

By 2017, she had transitioned into the creative sector, embracing roles in digital design and branding. These early experiences taught her the craft of communication and the mechanics of how campaigns influence perception. Her progression within MoMRAH, from creative specialist to manager, reflects her ability to scale impact, introducing structures, KPIs, and internal narratives that made government employees active participants in Vision 2030.

Her current advisory and regional leadership roles illustrate how she has evolved into a strategist capable of influencing institutional and regional identity. This trajectory from educator to creative to national advisor is what makes her journey inspirational for Saudi youth and professionals alike.

A Mission that Inspires

For Fouz, communication is about empowerment, not just messaging. Her mission has always been to translate policy into stories that resonate with people. She has designed communication playbooks, intranet systems, and ambassador programs that allow employees to feel ownership of the Vision 2030 journey.

“A great initiative is not only about policies but about the experience it creates and the values it communicates.” - Fouz AlZahrani

Externally, her work on Al-Baha’s regional brand demonstrates how cultural authenticity and modern creativity can converge. She has positioned the region as a symbol of heritage and opportunity. By balancing internal engagement with external branding, she ensures that communication serves as both an instrument of inclusion and a catalyst for growth.

Innovation and National Impact

Innovation, for Fouz, lies in the systems that make storytelling sustainable and scalable. She has pioneered brand governance frameworks, asset libraries, and editorial standards that maintain consistency across agencies and regions. She introduced KPI-driven storytelling, ensuring that campaigns are evaluated not only on creativity but also on tangible outcomes such as reach, comprehension, and service adoption.

She also developed internal communication playbooks that integrated feedback loops, townhall frameworks, and employee ambassador programs. These innovations transformed internal communication into a driver of organizational culture. She captured it best when she said:

“Communities are not owned, they are nurtured. Our role is to create spaces where people feel empowered to contribute.”- Fouz AlZahrani

Her impact is perhaps most visible in Al-Baha. The Strategic Office for Developing Al-Baha Region, established by Royal Order No. (61856), tasked her with shaping its corporate identity. By drawing from the region’s natural beauty, heritage, and investment potential, she helped craft a regional story that aligns with Vision 2030 priorities while appealing to global audiences.
